Soft and fluffy cinnamon rolls swirled with luscious peach filling and topped with creamy icing, evoking nostalgic summer memories.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 1/2 cups fresh ripe peaches (cubed)
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1/2 cup very thinly sliced peaches (for the filling)
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1/4 cup bread flour
  • 3 2/3 cups bread flour
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons instant yeast
  • 1 teaspoon fine sea salt
  • 1/3 cup whole milk (room temperature)
  • 1/3 cup heavy cream
  • 1 large egg (room temperature)
  • Tangzhong (from recipe above)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla paste or extract
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (room temperature)
  • 2/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter (melted)
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter (room temperature)
  • 2 ounces cream cheese (room temperature)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons heavy cream

Instructions

  1. Make the Peach Jam: In a saucepan, combine the cubed peaches, granulated sugar, lemon juice, cornstarch, and water. Cook over medium heat until thickened, about 5–7 minutes. Set aside to cool.
  2. Make the Tangzhong: Whisk together the 1/4 cup of bread flour with 3/4 cup of water in a saucepan. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until it thickens into a paste. Remove from heat and let it cool.
  3. Make the Dough: In a mixing bowl, combine the bread flour, sugar, yeast, and salt. Add in milk, heavy cream, egg, Tangzhong, and vanilla. Mix until just combined.
  4. Knead the dough until it is soft and elastic, about 8–10 minutes. Add softened butter gradually while kneading.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl and cover it. Let it rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 60–90 minutes.
  6. Prepare the Filling: In a bowl, combine the thinly sliced peaches, brown sugar, and ground cinnamon.
  7. Punch down the risen dough and roll it out onto a floured surface into a rectangle.
  8. Brush the dough with melted butter and sprinkle the peach filling evenly across the surface.
  9. Starting from one end, roll the dough tightly into a log. Slice into equal pieces.
  10. Place the rolls in a greased baking dish, cover, and let rise for another 30–45 minutes.
  11. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the rolls for 25–30 minutes or until golden and puffy.
  12. In a bowl, beat together cream cheese, powdered sugar, and heavy cream until smooth and creamy.
  13. Once baked, drizzle the icing over the warm rolls. Let them cool slightly before serving.

Notes

For best results, use fresh peaches and ensure that milk and eggs are at room temperature.
