Description

A comforting and cheesy twist on traditional taco night, combining savory flavors with convenient crescent roll dough.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes (canned or fresh)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 cans (8 oz each) Pillsbury Crescent Rolls
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions
  • 1/4 cup sliced black olives (optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat until fully cooked, about 7-10 minutes.
  3. Drain excess fat, then stir in the taco seasoning and diced tomatoes. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until heated through.
  4. Unroll the crescent rolls and lay them in a greased 9×13 inch baking dish, pressing the seams together to form a solid base.
  5. Spread the beef mixture evenly over the crescent roll base.
  6. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese on top of the beef mixture.
  7. Fold the edges of the crescent rolls over the filling, creating a rustic top.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the crescent rolls are golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.
  9. Remove from the oven and let cool for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

For a vegetarian version, substitute ground beef with black beans or soy crumbles.
