Description

A comforting and shareable dish that brings the flavors of traditional sushi into a warm, baked casserole.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups cooked sushi rice
  • 2 cups imitation crab, chopped
  • 1/2 cup Kewpie mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup furikake seasoning
  • Optional garnishes: nori sheets, green onions, avocado slices


Instructions

  1. Prepare sushi rice by rinsing it until the water is clear. Cook according to instructions.
  2. Mix warm rice with rice vinegar, sugar, and salt; let cool.
  3. Combine imitation crab with Kewpie mayonnaise and Sriracha in a bowl.
  4. Preheat oven to 450°F.
  5. Brush a baking dish with oil and layer sushi rice evenly.
  6. Sprinkle half of the furikake over the rice.
  7. Spread imitation crab mixture on top and finish with remaining furikake.
  8. Bake for about 15 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Garnish with green onions and avocado if desired before serving.

Notes

Use quality ingredients for the best flavor and don’t skip cooling the rice before assembling.
